Case Filed for Seaman Injured by Employer Pressuring Him to Work
- Arnold & ItkinArnold & Itkin filed suit on behalf of an injured seaman from Galveston County who worked with the same company for years. After sustaining a serious injury on the job, which required surgery, he was then pressured to return to work by the company. Pressuring employees to return to work before they’re fully recovered can make it even more likely for a worker to get injured in the future; just as importantly, it makes other workers less safe when other employees are not 100% ready to work.
Employers are obligated to allow their injured employees to take as much time as they need to recover from their injuries. This creates a better life for their workers and a better work environment overall. When employers fail to do what’s right by their employees, it’s our duty to hold them responsible.
Arnold & Itkin is proud to represent this man in seeking the just compensation he deserves for his loss. And we look forward to holding this man’s employer accountable for subjecting him to even worse injuries by pressuring him back to work.
