Biography
The first lawyer in his family, Wes grew up in Holland, Michigan. He graduated summa cum laude from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas, with a double major in philosophy and political science. He then pursued his law degree at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, where he excelled academically, earning Scholastic Excellence Awards for Evidence and for Insurance & Litigation for getting the highest grades in each class. While at Vanderbilt, Wes also started the Vanderbilt Plaintiff’s Advocacy and Litigation Society, a group aimed at connecting fellow law students with the chance to advocate for individuals rather than for large corporations.
Wes began his career with Arnold & Itkin as a summer law clerk during his first year of law school. His second summer on the job, he played a key role on a trial team that secured a landmark $209.26 million verdict on behalf of an oilfield worker whose worksite had left him with a rare and deadly disease. Wes has been with the firm ever since, advocating for workers’ rights and well-being.
