Biography

Parker is a fifth-generation Texan who has committed his life to serving his community. After earning his undergrad degree at the University of Texas, Parker joined Teach for America, teaching English to sophomores and juniors in the Houston Independent School District. Four years in, he was elected Teacher of the Year by his colleagues at Chavez High School. Not long after, Parker took on a leadership position at Three Oaks Academy, a nonprofit dedicated to helping students facing substance abuse disorders. He led a team that included educators and mental health specialists to empower students in recovery.

But Parker knew there was more he could do.

So, Parker then embarked on a long-overdue dream of working in law. He enrolled at Stanford Law, taking on a role as the Articles Editor for the Stanford Law Review and the Stanford Journal of Civil Rights & Civil Liberties. Upon graduating, Parker joined the appellate group of a prestigious Houston firm, where he won major victories for the victims of corporate mistreatment.

From the beginning, Parker made pro bono work a significant part of his practice. In one case, he presented an oral argumentĀ in the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals in a case where his client was facing overwhelmingly unfavorable odds. Despite this, he won a major victory; his nonprofit co-counsel called his trial performance “some of the finest lawyering I’ve ever seen,” which is something Parker remains proud of.

Parker then clerked for the Honorable Judge George C. Hanks in the Southern District of Texas. He attributes his deepened understanding of the law to Judge Hanks’ tutelage; Judge Hanks also played a role in Parker’s personal life as the officiant at his wedding to his partner Shaun.

Parker is proud to have had his work published in the Southern California Law Review.

Today, Parker is part of the Arnold & Itkin appellate team. At Arnold & Itkin, Parker provides a unique perspective and legal acumen to every case he handles. This combination makes Parker an incredible asset to our clients and our community at large.

In his spare time, Parker enjoys singing, playing guitar, playing tennis, and spending time with his family.
