Biography
Originally from Utah, Aileen pursued her PhD in New York before relocating to Texas to join Arnold & Itkin and attend law school. Throughout her schooling, she frequently presented her research at global conferences and published several articles analyzing the works of authors George Sand and Paul Féval. In her dissertation, Aileen explored the re-emergence of fairies from medieval literature in nineteenth-century novels, emphasizing their intelligence and influence as powerful figures in magical realms. In the medieval tradition, fairies are considered skilled advocates and the only ones capable of navigating disputes to aid those in distress. This serves as an inspiration for Aileen in her current legal practice.
Aileen’s extensive research honed her analytical skills, with professors noting her unique ability to identify evidence that others often overlooked. She excels at transforming this evidence into persuasive arguments, demonstrating meticulous attention to detail in every aspect of her work.
Now, as a dedicated legal professional, Aileen is proud to apply her skills to fight for her clients in cases involving personal injury, wrongful death, work injuries, plant and refinery accidents, and offshore accidents. She vividly recalls her first trial experience as a law clerk at Arnold & Itkin, where she worked on the case of a young woman who suffered severe—and ultimately fatal—injuries after being shot in her college apartment. This young woman, who faced years of suffering before passing away, feared being forgotten. Though she will never be forgotten by her family or the Arnold & Itkin team, the successful resolution of the case allowed for much more. Thanks to the trial team's efforts, the young woman’s parents were able to honor her memory by naming an auditorium at her college after her, ensuring her story will be told to future generations of students at the school she dearly loved. This profound experience has stayed with Aileen, influencing her practice and reiterating her commitment to fierce client advocacy.
In another notable case, Aileen also dedicated years to representing the family of a platform worker who tragically passed away. From the moment she examined the file, Aileen recognized the severe safety lapses that led to the worker's death. After extensive preparation, the case went to trial, culminating in a unanimous jury verdict that found the company solely responsible for the unsafe conditions that caused the individual’s demise. Witnessing that moment of justice alongside the trial team and the worker’s family was a privilege and an honor for Aileen.
Most recently, Aileen participated in a trial concerning a catastrophic plant explosion that affected nine people who had long awaited their chance to seek justice. Inspired by the deposition testimonies, she worked diligently to gather crucial evidence. The trial ultimately culminated in a remarkable $91 million verdict.
Each of these cases presented significant challenges, representing the type of work Aileen is most passionate about. She remains steadfast in her fight for clients who have suffered unjustly due to negligence and wrongful acts. From her first day at Arnold & Itkin, Aileen was inspired by the passion and dedication of her mentors and colleagues, and she eagerly anticipates continuing her career alongside these remarkable attorneys.
